Review:

'Choose or Die' is a film that will help you to remember flicks like 'Saw', 'A Nightmare on Elm Street', and the more later 'Dark Mirror: Bandersnatch'. The main thing that separates this horror thrill ride from the movies referenced above is that it's undeniably less captivating and is absent any trace of surprises. The tone of the film is incredibly clinical. It starts in an unoriginal design and finishes on a comparable note. While watching the film, one gets the inclination that the creators of the film were under some kind of strain to manage down the length of the film.

'Choose or Die' is about a reviled computer game from the 80s that has deadly and destroying outcomes. Two youthful developers Kayla (Iola Evans) and Isaac (Asa Butterfield) are in charge of the things whose adoration for retro computer games lands them into inconvenience. Whenever they go over a computer game named CURSED, they are attracted by its unclaimed award cash. The occasions of the computer game show up, in actuality, as well, and the computer game is even ready to guess what they might be thinking of what they are going to say straightaway. Basically, the computer game has the ability to control the brain of clients. While climbing various levels of the game, individuals die and a wide range of ghostly things continue to occur. Close by this fundamental plot additionally runs the subplot of Kayla's loved ones. She lives in a rodent pervaded project lodging level alongside her evil mother and stays the sole provider of the family, and in this manner to additional enhancement her pay moonlights between a developer and a cleaner at an elevated structure condo.

The series discusses things from the 80s and in this way had every one of the ingredients of bringing watchers down memory path for some time however nothing of that sort occurs. The main chill that watchers get to encounter doesn't come from the deadly game, however from Kayla's more youthful sibling who had died in an abandoned pool. In the peak of the movie the director makes an honest effort to persuade audiences about something which is absurd, regardless. The backstory to the game is essentially odd and abnormal and you really stand amazed toward the end what you saw. The essayist ought to have outlined further the connection among Kayla and Issac. You are sure, hopefully not by mistake, that with the advancement of the film, their relationship also will progress to an alternate level, yet nothing occurs and the powerless chemistry is extended all through the length of the film.

From the star cast, it's Iola Evans, who conveys a fine performance. You can feel her injury from her facial looks and appearance. In the job of somebody who bears the whole obligation of the family, she has worked really hard. Asa Butterfield in the job of Issac, truth be told, has not a lot to do. The dash of ability that we saw in 'Sex Education' and Martin Scorsese's 'Hugo' is there in this film as well however they are rare.

Eventually, 'Choose or Die' gives the vibe of a silly film, or all in all, it has successions that have last details. At the point when the actual premise is incredible, it becomes challenging to legitimize things and eventually, things stack up and turn into a pile of absurdities. This is the precise issue that torments this horror dramatization.

Choose or Die is the newest attempt a low budget horror franchise from Netflix. The movie poster looked absolutely awful, but I clicked it anyway. It was pleasantly surprised on what we watched.

It tells the story of a seemingly cursed texted adventure computer game that physically and psychologically torturers those who play with a promise of a prize at the end. We follow a down and out teen played by Iola Evans who decides to play.

At roughly 80 minutes this film gets right down to business and there isn't much fat here. Characters are cliche but still interesting and realistically flawed. It does take a lot from past horror films (Nightmare on Elm Street, 13: Game of Death, Black Mirror, goosebumps, Saw.ect) but does enough to make it feel not entirely ripped off. There are several plot holes and conveniences like in most horror films, but the story is downright gripping if you let it be.

The lack of budget is felt a few times but it actually works to enhance the story. As someone who enjoyed choose your own adventure books,  didn't mind using my imagination at some points in the story. It works here. The movie does not over explain it's mechanics either. Some of what is given is confusing but also unexpected which was appreciated. The pace feels rushed at times but is brisk and keeps you engaged.

We feel like we do not need a sequel to this, but at the same time this is a very solid horror movie which decent acting and pacing that is worth the time it asks for. If the concept intrigues you, give this one a watch.
